A new tenancy strategy was approved by councillors this week that will improve the way that the limited supply of social housing is managed in Central Beds.

Councillor Carole Hegley said: “This strategy will support our main aim of making Central Beds a great place to live and work.

“We aim to help people to buy or part buy a home once their tenancy comes to an end, or choose to rent privately, when their circumstances improve.”

The strategy intends to promote aspiration, with social housing being used as a springboard for tenants to get on the property ladder.
