A lucky Luton hairdresser was presented with a customised scooter as part of beauty electricals giant Wahl’s UK headquarter’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

Safia Djillali, an apprentice hairdresser at the Cutting Corner in New Bedford Road, entered a Twitter competition to win the leopard-print vehicle, in which she had to tweet a picture of herself using Wahl products, and was delighted to hear she had won.

Wahl’s European artistic director Simon Shaw was in attendance, and said of the anniversary: “It’s such a significant milestone. It’s been a real pleasure looking back at our history and looking ahead to the next generation of hairdressers.”
