A dog was attacked by two Rottweilers while being walked in Houghton Regis on Monday (January 8).

It is believed one or both of the Rottweilers dragged the dog through fencing into the garden of their home in Hammersmith Gardens before mauling the animal.

Seven police units – including the dog section – attended the incident at about 1pm.

Police advised the owner of the Rottweilers to take better care to secure their premises in future.

The dog was taken to a veterinary centre. No criminal action will be taken as the incident occurred on private property and is therefore a civil matter.
