Dunstable mum awarded MBE
Terri recognised for her safety work
Terri Miller is gearing up for a day out to Buckingham Palace after being awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
The 46-year-old mum of three, of Croft Green, has been recognised for her services as a union safety rep at De La Rue Security Print.
She has worked for the Dunstable firm for 16 years and has been a member of the Unite union for 14 of them.
She said: "I'm shocked. I was really embarrassed about the whole thing but my work colleagues have been great about it."
One person who is beaming about her success is her dad Danny Welsh.
Terri said: "My dad is over the moon as he is a former union rep."
Terri said she was now going to be busy searching for an outfit to wear for her trip to the palace.
She said she was feeling quite nervous about the day, and hoped to take her husband Marshall, who is a prison officer at Aylesbury, along with her for support.
See the full story about Terri in the June 17 edition of the Dunstable Gazette.
