Electrical giant closes down as sale appeal fails

Comet in Dunstable has now closed down, following its last day of trading on Monday (December 10).

The White Lion Retail Park location was one of 34 stores nationwide to close on Monday, with a further 23 to close by the end of the week.

The electrical giant went into administration last month. Joint administrator Chris Farrington said: “Should any acceptable offers be received for stores we will delay the closure process. Unfortunately, in the absence of a firm offer for the whole of the business, it has become necessary to begin making plans in case a sale is not concluded.”
