Leader of the Conservative MEP team for the East of England, Geoffrey Van Orden, was shown around the Busway to see what a difference investments are making in Dunstable.

He was shown around the construction site by Central Beds Councillors Ann Sparrow and Peter Hollick.

Mr Van Orden said: “I hope the busway is going to make a real difference for local people.

“It’s been challenging but we all understand the need for more infrastructure investment and innovative solutions to difficult problems.

“The new busway is nearing completion and I know our councillors have put much effort into the project to get the best value from it.

“They have my support in this.”

Councillor Nigel Young said: “Our masterplan for Dunstable is starting to come together and some individual schemes like the Busway have attracted a lot of comment, but it is important to see them as part of a jigsaw that will create a brighter future for our town.”
