FOUR people were hurt after the car they were travelling in crashed on a country road last night (Tuesday).

The driver and passengers had to be taken by ambulance to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital after the accident, which happened in Long Lane, between Toddington and Tingrith, at about 9.45pm.

Their injuries were not serious but two spinal boards were used, and firefighters from Toddington and Dunstable gave first aid until ambulance crews arrived.

It is believed the occupants of the vehicle, a Volkswagen Fox, were in their teens. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

A spokesman for Beds Police said officers were investigating the cause of the accident.
