The Real Thing

The Real Thing

Britain’s top soul group The Real Thing will be performing their world-famous hits live this weekend at the Stables.

Original vocalists Chris Amoo, Eddie Amoo and Dave Smith will bring you back to the 70s with renditions of million-selling singles You To Me Are Everything, Can’t Get By Without You, and Feel The Force.

The soul sensation also enjoyed a renaissance in the 1980s, when their three biggest hits were remixed to reignite the disco buzz.

Also, countless worldwide artists – including Mary J Blige – have covered The Real Thing’s Children of the Ghetto,

The Liverpudlian group, who have been together nearly 40 years, also had hits with You’ll Never Know What You’re Missing, Whenever You Want My Love.

Backed by their five-piece band, the Real Thing tour the world performing their hits, plus a medley of classics from the seventies including tracks such as Celebration, Ladies Night and Ain’t No Stopping Us Now.

Catch them at the Wavendon venue this Saturday (September 1) and enjoy a night to remember.

Also at the Stables this week is Canadian singer-songwriting legend Bruce Cockburn, performing as part of the tour of his new album, Slice O Life.

Cockburn’s songs have been covered by Elbow, Jimmy Buffett, Judy Collins, Third World, Chet Atkins, K D Lang and Barenaked Ladies.

Labelled a “virtuoso on guitar” by the New York Times, Cockburn is widely considered to be one of the world’s best and has been at the top of his game for over 40 years.
