Harvest Dinner to help build bright future for Marian Hall
Community
Organisers of the Harvest Dinner to raise funds for the re-building of Marian Community Hall have made changes to the event.
The fundraising meal will now take place at 4pm on October 28, not 12pm as previously stated.
Organisers have also cancelled outside stalls for the event due to fears of adverse weather conditions.
The Marian Centre is in desperate need of replacement with a more durable building. Thousands of hours of voluntary time and close to £4,000 was spent on making the premises habitable and compliant to health and safety regulations
The premises is used by groups of all ages from babies to the elderly, including Scouts, Guides, Zumba classes, diocesan meetings, coffee mornings and even the Beds Zimbabwean community group.
Planning permission has been granted but considerable-sized grants are needed to make a new building a reality.
