Man, 65, jailed over indecent child pictures

Two people involved in the taking of indecent pictures of youngsters were sentenced by a court on Friday.

John Allsop, 65, of Southwood Road, Dunstable, was jailed for two years at Luton Crown Court.

His friend, 30-year-old Eileen Wiedhoft, described in court as a “photographer’s mate”, received a suspended sentence.

Wiedhoft had even engaged the children in sexual activity for the camera.

Her offences all took place in 2005 and 2006.

Allsop pleaded guilty to charges of making, possessing and distributing indecent photographs.

He also admitted a separate charge of possessing extreme pornography.

Wiedhoft, from Luton, appeared for sentence having been convicted by a jury at the end of a trial earlier this summer of two offences of making indecent images and engaging a child in sexual activity.

The court heard Allsop had amassed a hoard of indecent pictures of young girls between the ages of three years and 16.

Some of the pictures he had taken involved the help of Wiedhoft, who the judge said had found young girls and reassured and encouraged them to pose naked for the camera.

She had also engaged in sexual activity on camera.

Passing sentence, Judge Barbara Mensah said Wiedhoft had in effect been a “photographer’s mate”.

After Allsop received his two-year jail term, Wiedhoft was given a 12 month sentence suspended for 18 months and ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work.

Both were made the subject of Sexual Offences Prevention Orders and their names will be added to the sex offences register.
