Mum brings Pokémon closer to her son

10-year-old loves to play despite illness

Young Cameron Dilley suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and is unable to travel long distances.

So his mum, Allison, has gone the extra mile so he can enjoy one of his favourite hobbies, playing Pokemon, closer to home.

"We belong to the North London league and there isn't another league between here and Leicester and it is hard for us to travel," said Cameron's mum, Allison.

The 10-yea-old's tiredness is a result of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a hereditary condition that causes overly-flexible joints.

Allison set up the Pokmon league at The Place on High Street North so her son did not have to travel too far to play.

"He has made lots of new friends - it is a nice social thing for him to do. Even if he is too tired to play, he can go and sit with his friends and watch," she said.

Despite his illness, Cameron is getting ready to jet off to the States later this year to take part in the Pokmon World Championships, a trip the family have spent months carefully planning.

The league is held on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm - membership is free and all age groups are welcome to join.

However, due to the Dilleys travelling to the World Championships, the next session will be on Tuesday, September 1.
