Never too late to learn a new skill
CENTRAL Beds Council is offering a programme of adult learning courses for those looking to improve their employability or to try something new.
Among the courses available are flower arranging, pottery, painting, computing, dressmaking, photography and languages.
Councillor Nigel Young, member for sustainable communities, said: “These courses can really help in transforming people’s lives as well as bringing wider community benefits.
They not only offer academic development but give learners the confidence and skills to take on new roles and to raise their personal and career ambitions.
“It’s never too late to learn a new skill or take up a new hobby and with such a wide range of activities, there should be something for everyone. So don’t delay, enrol today.”
People receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance can join a course for free.
A comprehensive list of the courses and workshops on offer is available at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/adultlearning.
> The learning centre is in Parkside Drive, Houghton Regis, open Monday to Friday 9am-4.30pm.
