Police warn they will take action over illegal raves
Crime
A 33-year-old Dunstable man was one of three people arrested on suspicion of public nuisance in connection with an illegal rave.
Police closed down the rave, at a farm barn in Dunton, near Biggleswade, in the early hours of Sunday, August 12.
More than 300 people are believed to have attended the rave, which started at about 12.30am.
A number of neighbours alerted police, who put roadblocks in place.
Those arrested for allegedly causing a public nuisance had their equipment and vehicles seized.
Inspector Russell Glenister warns that illegal raves will not be tolerated.
He said: “It is vital that the public inform us as soon as possible so we can intervene with raves before they get under way, as they are easier to disrupt.
“Probable signs include website and noticeboard postings, or multiple car convoys driving in circles waiting for last-minute information on the location.” Parents should be aware of their teenagers’ whereabouts, and ask questions if they want to be dropped off at an unusual location.
> If you have information about a rave, call police, in confidence, on non-emergency number 101, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or text 07786 200011.
