Snow shuts down schools for the weekend

A number of schools in Central Beds were forced to close early for the weekend today (January 18) due to the arctic wintry conditions.

Schools that were forced to close at about lunch time were Dunstable Icknield Lower in Burr Street, Manshead School in Dunstable Road, Queensbury Academy in Langdale Road, St Christophers Lower in Gorham Way, Tithe Farm Lower in Tithe Farm Road, Weatherfield Academy in Brewers Hill Road.

Also closing for the afternoon were Kensworth Lower School in Common Road, Kensworth; Eaton Bray Academy in School Lane, Eaton Bray; St Mary’s in Dunstable Road, Caddington; The Chiltern School in Parkside Drive, Houghton Regis and Toddington St George in Manor Road, Toddington.

St George’s Primary School in Priory Road was closed all day.
