Strictly star Colin Salmon received an honourary degree from the University of Bedfordshire yesterday (November 22).

The actor, who is best known for roles in James Bond and Doctor Who, celebrated his Honourary Doctor of Business Arts award with a Strictly-style high kick, which got cheers and applause from the audience.

There was an unusual choice of music played on St Mary’s Church’s organ as Colin left the ceremony – the James Bond theme tune,

The former Ashcroft High School student said to the graduates: “I just want to say how humbled and honoured I am to receive this award. As an actor, it is not my job to judge. There is nothing I turn my back on. You must face everything; learn from everything, because everything is an art form.”

Colin took time to meet graduates, pose for photos with excited fans and even danced with a lucky few of them.
