A CUPPA and a cake were the order of the day at Dunstable’s Priory House on Monday, as the tea rooms re-opened their doors after a refurbishment.
Following a four-week closure to allow workers in for the facelift, customers are now being invited to drop in and take a peek at the new look cafe.
Welcoming regulars as well as new faces, the staff in the Priory House Tea Rooms – located in the Grade II listed building on High Street South overlooking award-winning Priory Gardens – are now offering new products as well as an updated decor.
The refurbishment has seen a fresh layout for the eaterie, which now also boasts a new menu focussing on homemade and locally-sourced products.
The tea rooms are the only ones in Dunstable and are now maximising on this unique selling point by offering a new choice of loose leaf tea.
There is also a variety of speciality freshly ground coffees and homemade cakes and tasty treats on offer at the town centre refreshment spot.
Opening hours remain the same. Customers can pop in from 10am until 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
It is hoped that the refurbished undercroft will also reopen in early autumn 2011 – the final part of the facelift, which has also encompassed the entrance hall and exhibition space.
