It’s traditional to raise a glass to the bride and groom and for newly weds Anthony and Zoe Perkins, Dunstable’s Beer Festival seemed the ideal way to round off a perfect day.

The couple had a quiet wedding ceremony at Grove House registry office, before they and their witnesses headed off to the nearby festival on Friday.

Zoe, 22, added of the ‘wedding breakfast’ at the festival: “It was very cold but really really good.

The couple, who met two years ago working at Barnfield College, and live in Dunstable, had a wedding party on Saturday before heading off for Cornwall for their honeymoon.

The three-day annual festival attracted the crowds from Friday to Sunday, with the chance to sample from nearly 40 real ales and 15 ciders.
