A gang of four youngsters left members of the public terrified after pulling a gun on them on at least three separate occasions on Sunday.

The incidents happened in different areas of Dunstable and the investigating police officer believes a BB gun was produced.

A 13-year-old has been arrested, for possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and released on bail until Thursday, October 9.

The first incident happened just after 5pm when a man was running with his dog behind Dunstable Leisure Centre in Court Drive.

The victim told the Gazette: “I was running with my dog, like I do three times a week.

“I ran past the leisure centre and I saw three boys and a girl close by. One was on a bike.

“I carried on running and I noticed that one of them was running behind me. I stopped and asked what his problem was and he challenged me and pulled the gun out of his bag.No shots were fired.”

The group involved are believed to be aged between 13 and 16. The victim was shocked by the incident but he was unharmed. But a friend wrote on the Spotted: Dunstable Facebook site: “Our friend is shaken by the whole affair. This is disgusting and causes us great concern. Things are happening like this anywhere, let alone Dunstable.”

The second incident was just after 8.30pm. A man called the police after a gun was pulled on him by a group of three boys and one girl in High Street North.

The third incident was in the Suncote Avenue area when a girl and three boys pulled a gun on a member of the public just before 9pm.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said: “The investigation is ongoing.

“If anyone else was approached by this group or has any information about any of the incidents, they should call 101.”
