A dog breeder said she felt “sick to her stomach” after discovering a six-week old puppy had been stolen from her backgarden in Dunstable.
Kristina Barton, 20, was at home in Southwood Road while German Shepherd pup Ella slept in the garden kennel with mum Bella and nine other puppies.
Ella is unique among the litter with her distinct sable coat, while the other puppies are jet black.
Kristina said: “It was as I was rounding them up again in the house, I realised one was missing.
“At first, I thought it was one of the black ones that had been taken and then I realised it was Ella. Someone must have taken her because she looks so distinctive.”
After going back to the kennel to investigate, Kristina found a hole cut into the back of the kennel wall – out of which she believes someone has taken Ella.
“It just makes me feel sick to my stomach”, said Kristina, who is seven months pregnant. “More than anything I just want to make sure she’s safe and being well looked after. I’m really trying not to get stressed but it’s hard.”
Kristina is desperate to get the puppy back and has offered a reward for its safe return. Anyone with information can call 07854 459106.
