A Manshead Upper School, Dunstable, trip to Disneyland Paris ended in misery for a number of students after their hotel rooms were ransacked by thieves.

Year 10 pupils and school staff returned to their hotel on Wednesday to discover that a number of rooms had been broken into, with a quantity of possessions stolen.

Police were called to the hotel, on the outskirts of Paris near the Disneyland resort, and took details of what was stolen from students.

Burglars also struck another school party staying at the hotel at the same time.

The 66 Manshead students on the trip returned home the following evening and parents were given a letter to inform them of what had happened.

Headteacher Jim Parker told the Gazette that the incident did not impact on the travel arrangements of students returning home.

He said: “Overall we had a very successful trip, but it was spoilt for some students due to the break-ins at the hotel.

“Some property belonging to students has been taken from rooms.”
