Two second half goals gave Dunstable Town a deserved 2-0 win in their Bedfordshire derby at Biggleswade Town on Boxing Day.
The Blues always edged the lunchtime kick off at the Carlsberg Stadium and continued their good run of form. Meanwhile the Waders will be pleased to put December behind them, with just a draw at Banbury preventing five straight league defeats.
The visitors had marginally the better of a lively yet goalless first half, testing the Waders’ rearguard on numerous occasions although Biggleswade were always threatening on the break.
But in the second half the Blues made their superiority count as the Waders failed to create any meaningful openings.
Shortly past the hour Dunstable took the lead when Ben Herd fired home after reacting first to a rebound.
And just seven minutes later Inih Effiong was on hand to convert close in to seal the points in front of a 202 strong crowd and give Dunstable a league double over Biggleswade.
