Hatters boss John Still is retaining belief that anything is possible heading into the last game of the season this weekend.

Luton host Stevenage, who are already assured of a play-off place on Saturday, in front of a sell-out Kenilworth Road crowd.

“Because if you look at Saturday, a freak happened. Well a freak might happen again.”

To climb above seventh-placed Plymouth Argyle, who are away at Shrewsbury Town, Hatters need an unlikely eight goal swing in their favour.

But Still said: “I reminded the boys that a few years ago, in the play-off semi-final, we (Dagenham & Redbridge) beat Morecambe 6-0.

“So if you want to believe you haven’t got a chance, you have no chance.

“But if you want to believe, you have a chance.

“Because if you look at Saturday, a freak happened. Well a freak might happen again, so we have to have that positiveness about us.”

Even if Hatters aren’t successful in their efforts to gain back-to-back automatic promotions, Still was enthused by the campaign they have had.
