Hatters winger Paddy McCourt has seen his hopes of representing Northern Ireland in the European Championships during the summer receive a blow as he wasn’t named in the squad for upcoming games against Wales and Slovenia.

The 32-year-old was part of the squad that earned their first ever qualification for the finals in France, and a first appearance at a major tournament since the World Cup in 1986 back in October.

But McCourt, who has won 18 caps, his last appearance against Latvia in November 18 has not made the 24-man squad, despite an extended run in the Hatters’ first team recently.
