Hatters now nine points off the play-offs after Harriers win

Hatters dropped to eighth in the Blue Square Bet Premier table after results went against them once more on Saturday, writes Mike Simmonds.

Although the top two, Grimsby and Wrexham, were both in FA Trophy action, all five sides above Luton won as Kidderminster’s thumping 4-0 triumph at Hyde means Hatters are now nine points off the play-offs, although they still have three games in hand.

Third placed Forest Green defeated Gateshead 1-0, while Newport County earned a 3-1 sucecss at Woking, Mansfield beat Cambridge 3-1 and Town’s Tuesday night’s opponents Macclesfield leapfrogged Luton with a 2-1 win at Alfreton.
