Luton AC javelin thrower Jo Blair has started her season in impressive fashion with two wins in two competitions.
The 30-year-old took part in the Woodford Green Open, where he blew away the cobwebs with an excellent 53.91m, despite the terrible conditions.
The distance was the second best of Blair’s career, while she then went to Tooting Bec for the Herne Hill Harriers Open earlier this month too.
Once again she impressed with 53.46m this time, her third longest throw ever, to claim victory.
Both these efforts have left Blair second in the GB rankings for 2016, with only Olympian Goldie Sayers ahead of her after throwing 58.79m in America at the weekend,
Blair is now hoping to be selected by England for their first international at Loughborough on Sunday, May 22.
She is also competing at Stockwood Park in the County Championships on Sunday.
