Dunstable people got the competitive spirit as they challenged each other to a static bike race with Rollapaluza.
The races were part of activities at Go Dunstable!, a lifestyles festival organised by Central Beds Council’s Travel Choices.
The event provided fun for all the family while suggesting ways they could become more active with stalls, attractions and demonstrations in the main arena.
Luton and Dunstable Hospital Radio were on hand with music while local groups demonstrated activities such as zumba, jazzercise, hula hooping, gymnastics, cheerleading and street dance. To encourage families to sometimes leave the car behind and use public transport, Arriva provided a Busway bus for children to explore. Many had their photos taken in the driver’s seat. A reminder of transport of yore came in the form of Molly, a working Clydesdale horse. “The atmosphere in Grove House Gardens was buzzing and the feedback from visitors was brilliant,” said Alvina Farrow, active travel manager at Travel Choices Hub, Ashton Square.
