Perfect weather conditions saw thousands of people turn out for the popular Dunstable Kite Festival last weekend.
Among them was Dunstable Town Councillor John Chatterley, last year’s Mayor, who is a keen photographer.
Dunstable Today has put together a slideshow of some of his pictures from the annual Dunstable Downs event.
Celebrating its quarter century, the festival attracted regular fliers and families who just wanted to have a go.
Organisers say the event, held on the National Trust site, has broken records for attendance at previous kite festivals.
Among the attractions were a craft fair, fun fair, paintball, wind charming, plus juggling and much more.
Kite Trader Skybums were also there selling some magnificent hand-made kites.
There was also an international flavour, with kite teams from France and Germany.
After permission from the Civil Aviation Authority, many of the kites were able to fly more than 450metres into the air.
