Dancing, music and love will bring the Hat Factory in Luton alive next week when the acclaimed show Swing hits the stage.

Presented by Fishamble: The New Play Company, Swing is a comedy about being brave, having doubts and trying new things, all set to a rock’n’roll soundtrack.

The play follows the relationship between May and Joe which develops through an academic year of swing classes. During the year, they must deal with romantic dilemmas, career problems and life choices, not to mention the other participants in the class.

It is written by Steve Blount, Peter Daly, Gavin Kostic and Janet Moran, directed by Peter Daly and stars Arthur Riordan and Gene Rooney with lighting design by Mark Galione and sound design by Ivan Birthistle.

Fishamble is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed Irish theatre company, dedicated to the discovery, development and production of new work. Fishamble tours throughout Ireland and internationally, and typically presents over 200 performances of its plays in approximately 60 venues per year.

Fishamble has been described by the New York Times as “forward-thinking” and by the Guardian as “excellent” and “terrific”.

Swing will be at The Hat Factory on Thursday, April 14, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10, £8 concessions and are available from www.lutonculture.com or 01582 878100. Booking fees may apply.
