The Butterfly Catcher, a play with a music, is a high school love story, capturing the feelings and thoughts of young people as they collectively voice their concerns about the pressures placed on them in education.

The Luton-based company performed the show earlier in the year at the Brighton Fringe, where it won the festival’s award for Outstanding Theatre and a nomination for the New Writing South’s Best New Play award.

It received five-star reviews from influential websites Broadway Baby and Latest 7, being described by the former as “an excellent piece of theatre that proved to be relevant, touching and most of all, important”.

NGYT formed in 2012, founded by husband and wife David and Laura Lloyd. It now has more than 300 young people aged four to 24 coming to a variety of dance and drama classes and companies Monday to Friday across Luton and Dunstable.

The company also works in school and regularly performs its own productions and showcases at community events, local theatres and national platforms.

The Butterfly Catcher will be performed at The Hat Factory in Bute Street on Saturday September 12. Tickets are £8 or £6 for concessions. Call 01582 878100 or visit http://www.lutonculture.com to book.
