LutonAid celebrates 10 years

Hot Mess, Scar City, Hazard! and Dive Like Casey are among the acts booked to perform at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts.

Mariana Brown, chair of LutonAid Music Academy, started LutonAid in 2005 to raise money for Keech Hospice Care as a thank you for the care given to Bill Candlish who had Muscular Dystrophy.

She said: “LutonAid is a fantastic day out for music lovers and we are immensely proud that it has been going for ten years.

“We have a great line up this year with Marshall Amps sponsoring us and we are very excited.

“I would urge anyone who has not been before to make this anniversary show and see just fantastic it is,”

LutonAid secretary, Paul Curry, said: “I became involved in LutonAid because it both raised money for a very worthy cause and linked into the work that we are doing with Luton bands through PDM Music.

“Ten years later and it still does those things but has also grown to be an important event on the Luton music calender, a registered charity supporting local music and it’s just got under our skins. We couldn’t not do it now.”

Doors open at 7pm on Friday and 12pm on Saturday, tickets are available from the UK Centre for Carnival Arts.
