This Off-Broadway, slightly risqué, satirical revue opened in January 1982 in New York and ran for over 2,300 performances.

The show has been rewritten more than a dozen times since its first performance and its cabaret-style, sharp spoofing of show tunes, characters and plots of contemporary and current West-End and Broadway musicals is a hit every season.

Forbidden Broadway mocks a number of popular shows like Wicked, Les Misérables, Spamalot, Annie and Fiddler on the Roof to name but a few.

A spokesman for the group said: “How many of these spoofs can you spot? Defying Subtlety, Into The Words, More Miserables, Rant, I Enjoy Being A Cat and many more.

“If you have the time, search on YouTube for Forbidden Broadway - you’ll get the idea.”

DAOS last performed Forbidden Broadway two years ago and this time they are back with some of the perennial favourites.

There will also be some new songs.
