Call the Midwife star in Milton Keynes

A Call the Midwife star exchanges her nurse uniform for something more sultry in her new show.

Helen George, who was also in the last series of Strictly Come Dancing, plays fun loving, fashion conscious midwife Trixie Franklin in the drama.

But now she is starring as the predatory and self destructive daughter of a peer in After Miss Julie as part of a short tour prior to a West End transfer.

Set in 1945 in an English country house, on the eve of Labour’s landslide victory at the end of World War II, After Miss Julie is inspired by August Strindberg’s 1888 masterpiece, Miss Julie.

During a summer ball, the beautiful daughter of the peer who owns the house, wanders into the servants’ quarters. As she flirts with her father’s handsome chauffeur, indifferent to the presence of the man’s fiancée, what begins as game playing ignites into passion with devastating consequences.

In addition to her role in Call The Midwife, she enjoyed success in the equally popular programme Strictly Come Dancing, storming her way through to the last handful of dancers alongside Aljaz Skorjanec in the last series.

After Miss Julie comes to Milton Keynes Theatre at 7.30pm from Monday July 18 through to Saturday July 23, with additional 2.30pm matinees on the Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets are priced from £15 and are available from the bx office on 0844 871 7652 or online at www.atgtickets.com/miltonkeynes
