The legendary Twelfth Night shares characteristics with other Shakespearean comedies including puns, deception, mistaken identity, young lovers facing obstacles, and of course a happy ending.

The story revolves primarily around identical twins who each believe the other is dead, although there are other sub-plots which add more confusion and hilarity as the play unfolds.

Director Alan Clarke said: “We are very much looking forward to staging this, our third, full-length Shakespeare and again entertaining audiences at The Little Theatre.

“We have been in rehearsals for several months and the talented cast have fully embraced the spirit of this very amusing play and are performing it with great aplomb, despite the tricky and tongue-twisting nature of the Shakespearean dialogue.

“This promises to be a fast-paced, hilarious and entertaining evening for the audience, with a solid local cast and attractive production design.”

The ACT Company was formed in 1997 and has staged a cross-section of theatrical work over the years.
