Strictly flavour to a new season packed full of musicals and drama on the stage

Big name musicals and stars of the small screen come as part of a packed new autumn season at Milton Keynes Theatre.

The Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon kicks off the season bringing 60s charm to the stage.

For those looking for something a little holier, X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood team up for Sister Act, a feel good story about a pop diva who goes on the run.

Another pop star turned actor, Gareth Gates, returns to Milton Keynes in a new production of Footloose which also stars Maureen Nolan.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ever popular musical CATS also makes another appearance at the theatre and is bound to leave positive memories for the audience.

There will also be a celebration of everything soul based in an adaptation of The Commitments. The book’s original writer Roddy Doyle has adapted it for the stage himself.

Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote takes on the iconic Audrey Hepburn’s part in a new adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Feelgood stage show The Full Monty also makes a return. The Bill’s Gary Lucy, dinnerladies star Andrew Dunn and Torchwood’s Kai Owen play the strippers from Sheffield.

There will be a perfect blend of comedy and drama as Alan Ayckbourn’s Relatively Speaking comes to Milton Keynes Theatre starring Robert Powell and Liza Goddard.

More Strictly favourites, including last year’s winners Jay McGuinness from The Wanted and Aliona Vilani, take a guest spot on Keep Dancing, a show created by another Strictly pro Robin Windsor.

There will also be ballet in The Nutcracker and Glyndebourne return with three operas later in the year.

One nighters will be packed throughout the autumn season. For the little ones, there is Peppa Pig’s Surprise while two of the most legendary names in entertainment, Des O Connor and Jimmy Tarbuck will bring anight of mirth and merriment to Milton Keynes.

Lots of laughter will be guaranteed when host of the satirical Channel 4 show The Last Leg, Adam Hills, brings his latest tour to the area.

An evening of mystic entertainment can be seen when Sally Moragn, best known as Psychic Sally, makes a return to the venue towards the end of the year.

It will all be rounded off with pantomime at the end of the year. Eastenders star Samantha Womack has been confirmed as the baddie Queen Rat in Dick Whittington. Other big names will be confirmed closer to the pantomime.
