I Believe in Unicorns, based on the book by children’s author Michael Morpugo, comes to the theatre after a successful summer run in London’s West End.

It is set in a library full of books which contain more than stories within their pages. It is a tale of the power of books and the bravery of a young boy named Tomas.

He loves playing in the mountains and hates reading and school, but his world is turned upside down the day he meets the Unicorn and the Unicorn Lady in his local library.

Starring storyteller Danyah Miller and produced by Wizard Presents, I Believe in Unicorns won an Argus Angel Award for Artistic Excellence at the Brighton Festival in 2014.

Michael Morpurgo said: ‘’Danyah’s performance is a tour de force. The show is moving and memorable, a glorious example of the magic of storytelling. I didn’t like it, I loved it!”

There will be a book swap, which is integral to the show. Audience members are invited to take along a favourite children’s book to form part of the set and then to swap it at the end for another book. This is not obligatory and there will be a supply of extra books for those who cannot take one with them.
