Aaron Sorkin’s electrifying courtroom drama A Few Good Men is being performed at the Library Theatre, Luton. The powerful play tells the story of two rookie lawyers in the US Navy who uncover more than they bargained for when they defend two US Marines on trail for murdering a fellow Marine at the Guantanamo Bay naval base. The play was made into a highly successful film in 1992 starring Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. American slide blues and roots guitarist John Emil will bring his celebrated style to the Bear Club in Luton. John has performed at major music festivals around the world. Emil creates a unique style by integrating country blues, folk, bluegrass and lush Hawaiian sounds into his repertoire. Luton Poetry Society hosts its annual Luton Poetry Festival at Luton Central Library (Conference Room) from 2pm to 4pm. Their theme this year is Dreams and the festival will include poetry readings by local poets, interactive discussions on the theme, and some classical music performance at intervals, including refreshments.
