By shopping locally, people can help local business owners get back up and running, from popping into a family-run bakers such as Don Millers for a loaf of bread to buying fresh produce from independent store Fruit & Veg Hub.

The Mall has a total of 29 small/independent stores at the centre, for a list of independent stores, visit: www.themall.co.uk/luton.

To help support Shop Local Week, The Mall is highlighting the campaign and independent stores at the centre through their social media channels and various e-communications.

Lavinia Douglass, marketing manager at The Mall Luton, said: “The past months have proved very challenging for UK businesses, it’s therefore very positive to see a fantastic initiative such as ‘Shop Local Week’ introduced by the Government.

"During what’s been a difficult time, it’s now more important than ever we all ‘think local’ and we’re encouraging the Luton community to support Shop Local Week and in turn the fantastic small and independent businesses we have here in the town centre.”
