Dunstable business The Beauty Shack wins Lash Bar of the Year
A Dunstable business was thrilled to be crowned Lash Bar of the Year at the first English NBL Awards (2020).
On February 16, The Beauty Shack, of Church Street, was proud to receive the accolade at The Holiday Inn, Birmingham Airport, during a glamorous night to recognise the best in the business.
The awards acknowledge the top nails, brows and lashes specialists that England has to offer, and the team was delighted to represent Dunstable on the night.
Owner Lauren Martin said: “We are feeling on top of the world. It’s so amazing to be recognised as one of the best in such a competitive industry.
“I think we won because of the hard work we put in.
“We keep our training and knowledge to the highest standard and, overall, we are a really friendly, welcoming team who have lots of fun.
“We have electric recliner chairs for ultimate comfort instead of beauty couches and every client is offered a blanket for that extra cosiness!
“We offer a variety of lash treatments from lash lift and tint to mega volume lash extensions.”
Lauren started the business by renting a room in a tattoo studio three years ago.
Within that time she has taken over the shop and transformed it into The Beauty Shack, with the award being extra special, given that it has only officially been open as a salon for 15 months.
Lauren added: “I have an amazing team: Mia Harrison and our lash queen Jodie Dumpleton. Without my amazing team we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
A spokesman for The English NBL Awards 2020 said: “The winners reflect the creativity and talent that flows within the profession.
“These specialists inspire others when it comes to the big and competitive world of beauty.
“The awards provided a platform to thank those who deliver high class services, making sure clients are left with the best of impressions.
“The winners lead the way in providing innovative treatments and are role models for the rest of the beauty world.
“We would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their amazing achievements.”
