The presentation marked the end of four years of fundraising by determined employees at the Capability Green aerospace engineering company, as their charity partnership draws to a close.

Gary Canzano, Head of Leonardo’s Luton Charity Committee said: “We feel enormously proud of our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and we hope our funding will make a real difference to local people living in our area. Throughout our fundraising we’ve always sought to raise awareness of the carin approach that Macmillan Cancer Support takes in helping those living with the disease, covering everything from physical and mental wellbeing to practical support on financial matters.

“This is so important when you consider that individuals are often feeling overwhelmed already.”

Jessica Zaremba, fundraising manager, Macmillan Cancer Support said: “Cancer doesn’t just affect your physical wellbeing, it can have an impact on every aspect of your life and the lives of those around you. But knowing where to turn for support isn’t always easy.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can by providing physical, financial and emotional support.

“Leonardo in Luton raised over £105,000 throughout our four year charity partnership for Macmillan Cancer Support. These vital funds could pay for two Macmillan nurses for one year, helping people with cancer and their families receive essential support.

“We have been blown away by the commitment and dedication of colleagues across Leonardo and can’t thank them enough for their incredible donation.”
