MP Selous to kick off export workshop at football HQ

A one-day workshop aimed at promoting the benefits of exporting will be held at Bedfordshire Football Association’s county HQ on November 15.

South West Bedfordshire MP, Andrew Selous, will be appearing at the Exporting: Is it for me? workshop behind Tesco in Skimpot Road, Dunstable, as part of a national Export Week.

Topics covered on the day will include an introduction to exporting, the different stages of exporting, the mechanics, reviewing your requirements and a final overview of the funded help and support on offer from government agencies.

The event is jointly hosted by business support organisations Enterprise Europe Network and Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce. Businesses will have an opportunity to hear first hand from experienced exporters and International Trade Advisors and to find out what it takes to successfully sell overseas.

Mathilde Murphy, Enterprise Europe East of England manager, said: “Exporting is a great way to boost your sales and easier than a lot of people think. We hope our free workshops can help businesses in Bedfordshire decide whether exporting is for them and help them along the way.

“Export Week November 12-16 is a national drive to get more companies to look at exporting as a way to win new business and to show through the events we are running across the region, including this workshop, the support and advice there is available to help them succeed”.

Mr Selous said: “I am delighted to be supporting this initiative to help get more companies in Bedfordshire exporting and to look to expand their business overseas and become even more productive and creating more jobs.”
