Vauxhall Way to close for urgent bridge repairs

A recent structural assessment found the bridge over Vauxhall Way is in need of urgent repair and work will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

Works are taking place overnight between 8pm and 6am to minimise disruption and a signed diversion will direct traffic along Eaton Green Road, Wigmore Lane and Crawley Green Road during those hours.

A council spokesperson said: “We appreciate that this is a very busy road and are therefore doing all we can to ensure that works are completed as quickly and as safely as possible, in order to keep Luton’s traffic moving as best as possible.”

Throughout the duration of the works, the footbridge will also be closed.
