105 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Luton today (Saturday) according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The total number of cases in the borough now stands at 3,897 (+105)

Elsewhere in the county, Central Bedfordshire has 2,696 (+54) cases, while Bedford's figure stands at 2,579 (+36).

There have been 1,171,441 lab-confirmed cases across the UK, up by 24,957.

48,888 deaths have been recorded within 28 days of a positive test, with a daily rise of 413.

The UK entered its second lockdown on Thursday, to be reviewed after four weeks.

The government hopes the restrictions will stem the rising tide in new cases.
