This week has seen record numbers of new Covid-19 cases in Luton, with 32 new infections on Monday, 12 on Tuesday, 28 on Wednesday, 27 on Thursday and 17 on Friday.

There have been 429,277 lab-confirmed cases in the UK, up by 6,042 today.
The number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 41,971 - rising by 34 since yesterday.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new restrictions which came into effect on Thursday to curb the rising tide in new Covid-19 infections across the country.
