Coronavirus latest: 32 new cases confirmed in Luton today

The total number of cases in the borough now stands at 1,920 (+32).

Yesterday (Sunday) saw 16 new cases, while an extra nine were confirmed on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the county, Central Bedfordshire has 1,475 (+12) cases, while Bedford's figure stands at 1,550 (+9).

There have been 398,625 lab-confirmed cases in the UK, rising by 4,368 since yesterday.

The number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 41,788 - rising by 11.

Nationally, the death toll has been 'recalculated' by officials using a revised definition of coronavirus-related deaths.

Previously, people in England who died at any stage following a positive test, regardless of the cause of their death, were counted in the figures.

However, there is now a cut off point of 28 days from the first laboratory-confirmed positive coronavirus test.
