David Kirby, Operational Medical Director, said: “This official recognition of the hospital’s performance shows the dedication of every single member of staff - from those who receive the critically unwell in ED, right through to those who discharge patients from the wards back into the community.

“We are proud of the contribution made by every one of our 4,000 staff and thank them for this fantastic achievement.

“This comes at an exciting time for the Trust as we have recently secured planning permission for our Helipad. This is another step towards the site’s redevelopment and will see critically unwell patients receiving the life saving treatment they need, faster.”
