Dick and Dom bring laughs and fun to free gala day

The free community event which takes place from 12.30pm to late afternoon in Ampthill Park and is part of the Ampthill Festival.

Dick and Dom will perform a special free children’s show as part of the festivities.

Ampthill Gala Day chair Emma Benson said: “After Chas’n’Dave performed last year, we wanted to do something extra special in 2016.

“Dick and Dom have brilliantly entertained a generation - now they will bring their magic to Ampthill.”

Tribute act Mercury Queen will also perform on the day.

Emma added: Mercury Queen are award-winning - the absolute cream of tribute acts - and they will be the perfect finale for what we know will be a great weekend.”

An annual highlight of Gala Day is the parade which passes through the town centre and arrives at the park around 1.15pm.

Prizes will be presented to the best-dressed groups by the mayor.

There will be a whole afternoon of music by local bands in the music arena, and a funfair and a range of food stalls will add to the festival atmosphere.
