Ladies strip in Players’ new show

Ladies and gentlemen from the Griffin Players are taking method-acting a step further, by stripping off for their own nude calendar prior to their performance of Calendar Girls.

Griffin Players are one of the first amateur companies to be granted the rights to produce the show, which tells the true story of a group of Yorkshire WI women who pose nude for a charity calendar.

The Players’ calendars will be sold at performances of the play for £5 each, with all profits going to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Melanie Ramsey said: “The photo shoot was held in the director’s parents’ garden and the shoot was interrupted by their other son and his wife visiting. Not what they expected to find on a quiet Sunday morning, a house full of nudes!”

The calendar features cast and crew Liz Rhodes, Debbie Cheshire, Deryn Rhodes, Chris Lines, director Richard Lovelock, props manager Lynda Fagan, costume lady Dee Lovelock, Josh Thompson, Maggie Doust, Andy Sizmur, Luke Murphy, Nuala Prior, Eileen Kirby, John Horley and Emma Fourniss. To book tickets for the show at Luton Library Theatre from September 13 - 15, call 07906075453 or visit www.griffinplayers.co.uk.
