Never-ending cold snap getting to you? Take an Easter trip to Land of Oz instead

With all the snow, ice and wind, plus the distinct lack of any sunshine or blossoming flowers, you’d be forgiven for thinking we’re still in the depths of winter, and a pantomime at The Grove Theatre is likely to confuse you further.

Don’t worry though, we’re not really stuck in a never-ending winter time-warp; this is the first ever Easter Entertainment Extravaganza.

Starring Dani Harmer, aka Tracy Beaker, The Wizard of Oz is a spectacular new professional pantomime to entertain all the family during the Easter holidays.

Follow Kansas farm girl Dorothy, played by Dani, and her pet dog Toto, who are whisked off on a magical adventure when they are picked up by a tornado and carried off to the Land of Oz.

The show also stars comedy legend Bobby Davro as the scarecrow, and children’s favourite Sarah-Jane Honeywell from CBeebies as Glinda.

There’s also an amazing live band, appearances from the munchkins, songs for everyone to join in with, and plenty of opportunity to get involved in the playful production.

At The Grove Theatre in Dunstable, on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, with matinee and evening performances.

While we’re talking panto, The Grove has also announced its star-studded cast for the winter pantomime, Dick Whittington.

Soapstar legend Ryan Maloney, better known to many as Toadie from Neighbours, who recently came third in Celebrity Big Brother, will be joined by the ultimate soap villain, Leslie Grantham, who will channel his famous Dirty Den character in his panto role of King Rat.

Dick Whittington will run from December 13, 2013, until January 5, 2014.To see a video interview with Dirty Den, visit www.lutontoday.co.uk or www.dunstabletoday.co.uk.

In the meantime, don’t miss the egg-cellent Easter panto (sorry couldn’t resist!).
