The classic tale of a wooden puppet who wishes to become a real boy comes to the Grove Theatre on Saturday, April 9, at 7.30pm, presented by Ballet Theatre UK.

Join Pinocchio, the cheeky marionette puppet with an unruly nose, on his epic quest as he overcomes obstacles, faces consequences, and even ends up in the belly of a whale, yet proves to all that dreams really do come true.

Along with characters such as Gepetto, the Blue Fairy and Jiminy Cricket, this ballet promises to take you on a heartwarming journey of discovery.

The story of Pinocchio dates back to 1883, when it was created by Italian writer Carlo Collidi. With a nose that expands under stress or while lying, and the character’s desire to be a real child, it became popular the world over, and is perhaps known best through the 1940 Disney version, the second animated film made by the company.

Adding to a successful record of ballet fairytales by Ballet Theatre UK including Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Sleeping Beauty and The Snow Queen, Pinocchio is set to a classical score and presents audiences with an original production that promises to carve a new love for Pinocchio through the magic of classical dance.

Tickets are priced at £19 for adults and £10 for children.
