Adults with learning difficulties arts and craft sessions. Every Wednesday 10.30am to 12.30pm and Saturdays from 11am to 1pm at Arttrend, Arundel Road, Luton. Luton Irish Forum holds a weekly Tuesday and Wednesday Club from 11am to 1.30pm at 102 Hitchin Road. This is a great chance to meet old friends and make some new ones. Refreshments are all included along with soda bread, scones with jam and monthly chicken and chips. Entry costs £1, plus optional £3 for two games of bingo and a raffle.

The East Pointers are three young men from Canada whose talent and penchant for traditional Celtic tunes of decades past greatly belie their respective ages. Each of them – banjoist/vocalist/step dancer Koady Chaisson, fiddle player/vocalist Tim Chaisson and guitarist/vocalist Jake Charron – is an accomplished musician in his own right, and their union produces a blend of Celtic tunes, songs and step-dances moulded into something uniquely Canadian via a history that goes back generations. Keep fit for the more mature. Luton Irish Forum’s keep fit class meets at 102 Hitchin Road, Luton, LU2 0ES, Thursdays from 10am to 11am. The class is ideal for anyone who wants to get active and it’s great fun too at £2 a session.

Led by jazz violin superstar Christian Garrick, The Budapest Café Orchestra play traditional folk and gypsy-flavoured music from across the Balkans and Russia. Klezmer, Romanian Doinas, Hungarian Czadas and beautiful ballads – such as the theme to Schindler’s List and Andy Statman’s beautiful Flatbush Waltz – are all featured. The workshop will be led by prize- winning poet Frances Wilson, who has run the regular Birchfield Writing Workshops in Hitchin for over 20 years. Following great reviews for their latest album Nordik, the Marco Marconi Trio play at The Stables, Wavendon at 8.45pm. Narko features many of Marco’s own compositions, carefully arranged for Trio and brought to life by established and highly respected jazz artists Enzo Zirilli on drums and Andrea Di Biase on double bass. The interplay between the trio members and the music they create totally draws the audience in, and offers listeners the chance to hear some of the finest jazz around on the scene today.
